Hello, my name is Victoria Peluf, and I’m a Co-Director for the Colgate Raider Pep Band. I’ll be studying abroad in Wales during spring 2020 and director during fall 2020. I’m a member of the class of 2021, and I’m from Minneapolis, MN. I’m majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Educational Studies. I play flute in Colgate’s pep band, symphonic band, and orchestra. I take private flute lessons as well. Other than music, I’m a member of Colgate’s Alumni Memorial Scholars (AMS) program, and I’m a lab assistant for Colgate’s general chemistry labs. During my sophomore year, I was part of Colgate’s Sophomore Residential Seminar (SRS) program.
As Director, my responsibilities include managing the pep band, as well as serving as a liaison between the Athletics Department and band to decide on a schedule for both home and away games. I also coordinate with the other board members in order to facilitate the band and ensure that it is as successful as possible, while also organizing annual events, including both our fall and spring formals. I work with Colgate’s administration and the other officers to arrange and run Pep Band Pre-Orientation. During my semester abroad I will be in regular contact with my co-director, Chloe Ellison, to keep up on the pep band and help make important decisions.
In high school, I was active in my school band, marching band, pep band, and pit orchestra. Even though I’m a biochemistry major, I made sure to stay actively involved in music when I went to college. If you have any questions about music, science, or anything else about Colgate, I’m happy to help!
